Editor review
Plasma Burst is an expansion-containment puzzle-arcade where you place barriers to contain expanding plasma fields. One hundred levels across five density tiers plus daily challenges. The format has more depth than most contain-the-thing arcades.
What works is the expansion-timer. Plasma expands every two seconds, which gives players time to plan barrier placements without making the format slow. The pacing is tense but readable.
One hundred levels with plasma-emitter count and barrier-budget escalating per tier. Tier one has one emitter and unlimited barriers; tier five has five emitters and tight barrier budgets.
Tested across maybe fifteen hours over a month. Cork City Library evening sessions plus weekend Patrick Street cafe afternoons. Touch drag is the natural input. Mouse-drag also works.
Where the design earns its high rating is the daily plasma challenge. Fresh emitter configuration every day with global leaderboard ranking. The competitive layer extends the format meaningfully.
Where I would push back is the absence of a sandbox mode. Players who want to design their own emitter setups have no option.
Four-and-a-half stars. Strong plasma-containment puzzle-arcade with thoughtful daily challenge. Recommended.
